+1 rep vs. last session

The difference is the next-session workflow.

If your priority is recording workouts and reviewing exercise history, Strong is a capable option. You may already have a progression system you are happy to manage yourself.

Iron Progression brings your last session, rep range, effort target, and progression history into the prescription. The focus is on explaining whether to add reps, add load, or repeat and adjust the work.

Logging and progression, side by side.

When is switching worth the work?

If Strong already gives you the record you need and you manage progression comfortably, there may be no reason to move. Keeping a familiar workflow and a continuous history has value.

To evaluate Iron Progression, enter one routine, log a normal session, and inspect its next targets. Compare the progression workflow rather than assuming that two apps with effort fields make the same decisions.

Keep your Strong export and existing history. Iron Progression's backup tools restore its own compatible JSON backups; they do not directly import Strong exports.
